Nio Tha Gift returns fire after his recent mixtape "No More Mr. Nice Guy" with this twisted story line over an Ekzact production. Spoke with Nio the other day and he had told me "Hustler's Spirit" his new album coming late December will be his best body of work yet. Not to mention 3 records produced by yours truly. This record is fuckin' dope! Succeed Neva Fail!
I thought I share a piece by 38th Notes before we get into 100s "Brick $ell Phone" Video. Enjoy!
Over the past week, we’ve seen everyone from little kids to grown ass people dressed in elaborate costumes and masquerading in the spirit of Halloween. One such character is a Berkeley pimp named 100s. 100s isn’t actually a pimp, but on his first album Ice Cold Perm, it’s a character he executes with chilling precision. The 19 year-old emcee was born to, and raised by, an African father and Jewish mother in Berkeley before being sent to boarding school in the Ivory Coast as punishment for acting out. It was in Africa that he started to rap, in addition to learning to speak French to communicate with his grand parents.
Needless to say this is not the typical evolution of an American rapper. I for one am glad that his Ice Cold Perm persona is fiction rather than auto-biography. What these particular rap nerds are inferring is that they can only enjoy his music if he’s actually trafficked, brain washed, and sold female bodies. It’s a voyeuristic dilemma for squares hoping to live vicariously through an authentic hood oppression that will never touch them. ...continue reading
Dope beat, ill video, real emcees. Recipe for some very good hip hop!
This is one crazy fuckin' roster. Ma'gawd! Honestly, why the beat gotta be so simple though?! Overall, the song in my opinion has repeat value just cause the features is just insane.

Not the average Gambino record, but I gotta respect the honesty in the record. Let the boy vent, it's not easy being famous. I guess. BUT, check the video direction. Sick! Always something to look forward to is the innovative music videos, but not to discredit the music cause CG is dope.

Shout out to DaVinci and the SWTBRDS collective for once again producing a solid body of work. The anticipated "MOEna Lisa" album has been in the works for years, but just like the actual Mona Lisa, the master piece had to be perfect with out flaw. Salute to the homies!!
