Bailey x Ashkon "Feelin' Like a GIANT"

Bailey came up with this great idea for a song and came to me for help with the production along with @Mike_Tetreault.  The song will include Ashkon, the man responsible for the San Franciso Giant's anthem, "Don't Stop Believing." So what do you get when you get 2 of the biggest anthems from last years MLB season? Guess, you'll have to wait till the new season starts! :)

JBillion x REL "MVMNT"

The album art for a particular project I been apart of just released and I can't be happier. The album is called The Movement "MVMNT" and is featured by none other than Mr. Steezy himself, J-Billion and accompanied with the exclusive production of REL, from the hit Bay Area television show, Distortion 2 Static. We spent hours at my studio on pre production and molding the overall sound of the album. It has a very rootsy, DILLA'eque vibe to it, which is probably something your not used to hearing J-Billion on. Be on the look out for this duo! I had a great time recording this record with the them. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Ya Boy "Come & Go" feat. Cik Money

Can't knock the boy's hustle! Big Up!

Complex Magazine on Bay Area Music

How do you feel about this Top 50 Bay Area Rap Songs list? http://tinyurl.com/4qzpuoh

The Bay Area has a chip on its shoulder when it comes to hip-hop. Everyone steals Bay Area slang, but the radio won't play Bay Area music. It doesn't help that The Bay's artists never want to deal with major labels, and then cry foul when they don't get spins any further east than Sacramento. This relative isolation has led to a certain kind of creativity, or strangeness, depending on how one sees it. Whether it's E-40's "Woody Woodpecker on crack" voice, Keak da Sneak's smoker's cough gibberish, Mac Dre's ecstasy-twisted dance moves, or Andre Nickatina's apparent obsession with Jungle Book, some of the Bay Area's most celebrated artists are downright bizarre and that's what people love about them. This alternative approach to rap, in the East Bay especially, has a long tradition outside of street rap, that goes back to Digital Underground, Hieroglyphics, Hobo Junction, and continues today with internet phenomenon Lil B. In the Bay Area, gangsta rap is not all that serious, and serious rap is still really fun. Would the Bay Area give up its strangeness for a shot at the mainstream? We hope not. In any case, here's a primer with The 50 Greatest Bay Area Rap Songs for those who have been missing out. Don't be surprised if you feel like you really missed out; you did.

Studio Session w/ Kendrick Lamar

Turf Talk 2k11

Shhhh, Turf Talk is coming. If there's one artist in the Bay I always wanted to produce for its Turf. Hands Down!

Who The Fuck is Nick James?

Hey, I asked myself the same question. Until the powers that be and the wonders of Social Networking can do for independent artists alike. Statistics say, it usually takes about 3 sources or mentions before someone will actually remember you or what your trying to present. I seen a video of Nick James possibly on Thizzler.com, I seen @whoisnickjames mentions on twitter, and lastly Nick himself follows me and is promoting a song I happen to check out. Long story short, keep grinding and utilizing your online resources. Your music will be heard. This time around, I actually came across something worth listening to, "808 & Grapes."

Kardinal Offishall "The Anthem"

1991 I came to California. I'm proud to say I was raised most my life in Bay Area, but T. Dot is where the roots are. YEE! Check out the ambassador of Toronto, Kardinal in his new video, "The Anthem."

Mike Dash E "Clap City Vol. 2"

The young homie Mike Dash E just dropped "Clap City Vol. 2" with features from Roach Gigz, Mic Conn, Jay Ant, Erk tha Jerk, Jay Ant, and more. This project is 1 of the many that will lead to his debut album "Dash with Me" coming sometime this year. The album will include production from myself and many others. Dash came a long way and I've seen him progress as an artist and someone with great networking skills. Keep doing yo thang bruh, you on your way!

I never really checked up on World Star to be updated on whats been happening in the industry cause they just had too much content to view. But I usually did come across their site a lot due to mainey shit like; Boy gets spanked for acting on FaceBook and fights. LOL! The site once known to be Notorious for helping independent artist get major exposure shuts down by none other than 50 Cent. I'm guessing because he can, and he just didn't like the website. The man has power, don't test him. The next time you want to talk shit bout 50, you better think twice. He'll hack your Facebook!

Follw @50Cent

Mistah FAB "Boom Bap"

"Boom Bap, tell the world we want HIP HOP back!" Fabby is definitely reviving the hip hop culture back into the Bay Area with this joint from his recently released album "I Found My Backapack." Make sure you copp that on iTunes. Some of you young bloods in the Bay need to wake up! Boom Bap!

The days of the cassette! Dubbing tapes and making epic mixtapes. Creating your own custom cover art and the vibrant multi colored Maxwell tapes. Those were the days! Let Nas explain his fascination with cassette tapes. Enjoy!

In this short film produced for TDK Life on Record’s Chronicles series, Nas discusses his passion for cassettes. The rapper reminisces about his long-gone tape collection, explains the importance of cassettes in early hip-hop culture and recalls the art of recording songs off the radio. His deep love of the medium and the music comes through in every moment, most especially when he talks about the ’80s rap legends who inspired him to become one of the most acclaimed emcees of the ’90s. -Rolling Stone

J Cole vs Nardwar

I was in need of a good laugh today and this did it for me! Big up!

Under the Bay w/ TJ of 1st Place

Thizzler says:

Also known as Stressmatic of the legendary hyphy group The Federation, TJ is much more than your average hyphy rapper - in fact, nowadays it would be safer to say that he's a rockstar who happens to rap. Mixing guitar licks with 808s and rhymes about being broke, partying with white girls, having hangovers, and being rad, TJ and his group 1st Place have carved out a niche that most rappers are scared to go near. He took a few minutes to meet up with Em Dub of Thizzler On The Roof over in Berkeley and talked about the origins of the name Stressmatic, what 1st Place is, his career as a mountain bike racer, and more. He even spits a couple verses acapella.

KAOS "Kingdom Kame"

Not everyone can come out with quality music videos, but that doesn't stop Bay Area underground artist KAOS of Sharpshootaz Entertainment. I met the young talent when EFurocious had brought him to the studio to work on his solo debut Chaos Theory. I see a lot of great potential in the aspiring emcee who is also a fan of the Brooklyn's finest The LOX. Listen!

Say Knowledge is a young emcee who resides in San Francisco and under the guide of Chase himself, the kid has a good shot at making some positive noise. The last record they put out had the same feeling, so expect some cohesive work from the up and comer. Also, future collaborations with myself and Say!

Lee Majors "I Look Like Rick James"

G Koop & O-man "Try Me" feat Baby Jaymes & Nightclubber Lang

The big homie G Koop is a beast when it comes to making them organic & soulful beats. We met at the 2010 Red Bull Big Tune and since then I admired his work. Nio Tha Gift & Hongry "My Brother's Keeper"

November 24th, the day before Thanksgiving, Nio and Hongry came by the studio again to work on more music for both "The Messenger" and Hongry's upcoming mixtape "Seek & Destroy." Nio lets Hongry explain their personal relationship and growing up together. The idea "My Brother's Keeper" came from a song from Nio's last album "Super Hero" which featured Hongry. It was entitled, "My Brother's Keeper."

Roach Gigz "Roachy Balboa 2"

While Roach Gigz first album worked in showing off more lighthearted side and highlighting the rapper's abilities on the mic, Roachy Balboa 2 shows a progression in the San Francisco native's style. Tracks like "The Moment," which features fellow rising Bay Area talents Young Gully and Marlo, deals with the murder of Oscar Grant and subsequent sentencing of police officer Johannes Mehserle. Elsewhere, Roach continues to show off improved song writing with tracks like "The Dopest 2," Roach's biggest anthem to date, and likewise, for fans who loved tracks like "Respect It" on Roachy Balboa, tracks including "Can I Rap" continue to show off Roach's ability to craft rapid-fire, take-no-prisoner lyrical barbs with unmatched skill.
